As part of the university commitment to serving the community, the Faculty of Applied Arts at Tanta University organized a specialized workshop entitled “Clothing Accessories and Sustainability.” The workshop aimed to raise environmental awareness and develop students’ skills in utilizing production waste in fashion design, creating an educational partnership that promotes sustainability and innovation.

The workshop was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed, Acting Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Maha Mohamed Amer, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Sheikh, Acting Head of the Department of Ready-Made Garments and Fashion Design.

The scientific and practical sessions were led by Prof. Sherine Badry, Lecturer in the Department. The workshop addressed methods of transforming fabric remnants and production waste into innovative products. It witnessed significant engagement from female students of the Textile School and Tanta Technical Industrial Girls’ School, who received hands-on training in recycling fabric scraps—turning waste into innovation by transforming them into modern and creative clothing accessories and fashion embellishments.
